| Urban Views -
Grand monuments and classic buildings blend in with the modern
streetscape. These
pictures show major buildings and street activity. |
 |
| Gardens -
Melbourne is lush with public gardens and captivates visitors with a fine
zoo that introduced Galen to butterfly madness. |
 |
| Tours - Thanks to the recommendation of
our guest house owner, we discovered
Rainbow Tours. We signed up for three day-long excursions.
The pictures from the sections below were taken while enjoying
the service and insight of Paul from Rainbow Tours. |
 |
| Wineries -
Australian wine is very well done, and a great value in comparison with
domestic U.S. wines. The day we spent visiting wineries came
complete with tasty wine and great countryside vistas. |
 |
| Great Ocean Road -
A full day and evening of one incredible sight after another!
Rainbow Tours took us on an immensely satisfying day to the Northwest of
Melbourne. |
 |
| Kangaroos and Koalas -
We succumbed to the animal icons of Australia on the third of our Rainbow
Tours day trips. |
 |
| Home Base - 169 Drummond, our guest house, provided comfort and an
excellent center for our excursions. The house is located in Carlton
around the corner from hot Lygon Street with its restaurants and street
life. |
