Gathering at the Table
Sunday, August 13 at 11 am in the Sanctuary
Service conducted by members of the Social Justice
Council
Who do we have at our table? What do we each bring?
Let's explore together why we come to this sanctuary
and be present to what sustains us in lives and our
work in the world. Alex Darr, Christine
Patch-Lindsey, and other members of the Social
Justice Council will create the service.

Greetings from Kolozsvar
from Mike McGirr
Rev. Tibor Rusz, minister of our Partner
Church in Kolozsvar, sends greetings to our
Congregation. Pictured is Tibor Rusz, son Matyas

and son Tamas (13), at Panoramic Restaurant

Kolozsvar III.
My message to your Society is that we find a great
honor that your church invited us to visit San
Francisco and we can hardly wait for it. I think
that this and your possible choir trip will lead to
what we all would like to happen -- the
strengthening of our partnership. I think personal
contact would be a step forward on this issue. We

Mozart Alert!
Sopranos Begin Singing the Mass Tonight (August 10) at 7:15 in Macondray
from Dr. Mark Sumner, Music Director
There is unprecedented excitement brewing for the
return of the Adult Choir next month. The Choir
will be presenting the newly completed Mozart
Mass in C Minor this coming November 19th at
our 11 am service. Four major soloists, full
orchestra, and more notes than Mozart was able to
write -- what more could you want?
Whether you're a Choir veteran or you haven't sung
in a while but would like to join in, you're invited to
come to rehearsal. The Choir begins assailing the
new Mass starting tonight (August 10) at 7:15 in
Macondray with just the sopranos! Altos get their
early start next Thursday (the 17th), and the men
follow on the 24th for their introduction to this
new masterpiece.
Pass the word and check your calendars now. You
don't want to miss out on the Choir's early start on
this
incredible, noteworthy, NEW masterpiece. The First
Unitarian Universalist Society Choir will be one of
the first to present this new version! And, if
you're not signing, you will definitely want to be
here on November 19th to hear it.
More about this NEW completion of the mass in
upcoming newsletters! Regular choir rehearsals
begin September 7th also at 7:15 pm in Macondray.
