I Can't Do It All On My Own:
Spiritual Centering in a Disconnected World
Sunday, June 3 at 11 am in the Sanctuary
A Worship Service Presented by the Young
Adult Group
In today's world, we rely on email, cell
phones, and text messaging to stay
"connected." But is it true connection?
We rely on our technological communications,
but often at the cost of authentic
face-to-face relationships.
Finding true community is even more
challenging when we are making transitions,
to a new job, a new home, or a new school.
For those of us who are constantly on the
move, how do we become centered in the midst
of the chaos?
Religious community has a role to play.
Please join this Sunday, when the Young Adult
Network will show ways of reaching out to
friends, family, and religious community.

Board Proposes to Drop Annual Audit Requirement
Informational Meeting Sunday after the Service
from Jane Park, Assistant Moderator
The Board of Trustees will hold an
informational meeting after the service to
discuss a proposed Bylaw amendment
it is recommending to the Congregation.
The proposed amendment, included in the June
newsletter, removes the requirement for an
annual financial audit. Instead the Society
would conduct annual financial reviews
combined with periodic audits. The change is
also recommended by the accountants who have
conducted the recent audits for the Society.
All Members and friends are invited to join
in the discussion.
At the May 20 Congregational meeting, the
Membership unanimously
approved the operating budget for fiscal year
2007-2008. The membership also unanimously
approved a resolution in support of marriage
equality. This is part of an effort
coordinated by the Unitarian Universality
Legislative Ministry to strengthen the voice
of California UUs on this issue.

Marketing Campaign at 90% of Funding Goal
Online and Mail-In Donations Still Being Accepted
from Rev. Gregory Stewart
The Unitarian Universalist Association's Bay
Area public awareness campaign has received
nearly $234,000 in gifts and pledges as of
last Friday (May 25). The "Capital Campaign
with a Heart"'s goal is $260,000.
Funds raised during this drive will be used
to pay for radio spots, newspaper inserts,
billboards, and other advertisements
promoting awareness of Unitarian Universalism
and the Bay Area congregations. These
messages will start being broadcast in
September, but only if the campaign goal is
reached before the middle of June.
Our Members were the last chronologically to
be sent letters asking for contributions. As
of last week 27 of us had responded with cash
or promises.
Please join me in supporting this important
and unique initiative.
