John Muir and the Manicheans
Sunday, August 26 at 11 am in the Church Sanctuary
service conducted by The Reverend Dr. Gordon Gibson

It has been said that there are two kinds of people in this world: those who say that there are two kinds of people, and everybody else.

In this service we will draw on the life and words of environmentalist John Muir, words of a French existentialist, and a letter from Paul to the church at Corinth to come down on the side of "everybody else."

The ancient heresy of the Manicheans, in contrast, tended to say "there are two kinds of people."

Alison Rittger will be the Worship Associate, and Trustee Carol Johnson will welcome worshipers to the service.

Monday (August 27) through Saturday (September 1)
from Executive Director Nancy Evans
and Building Manager Donald Johnson

The church and center will be closed from Monday (August 27) through Saturday (September 1) for cleaning and maintenance. The administrative staff will also use this time for projects that require special concentration and focus.

There will be no daytime phone or reception service. In the event of an emergency, please leave a message, and the staff will respond.

"Thank you for allowing us this uninterrupted time to prepare for what promises to be a very busy fall," says Nancy.
