The Members of the Society will vote Sunday after
the service to extend a call to The Reverend Gregory
L. Stewart to be our Senior Minister.

and must be returned there by 4 pm Saturday (April 8).
Concerning Character
Sunday, April 9 at 11 am in the Sanctuary
Service conducted by Reverend Gregory L. Stewart
What does it mean to live a life of true integrity?
It is imperative for both individuals and
institutions to make character matter if we are to
be taken seriously in a culture that has virtually
written off both organized religion and its
practitioners.
In today's sermon Rev. Stewart will offer some
observations about how to live an honest life in the
midst of the ethical dilemmas we encounter in a
post-modern world.
Milo Hanke will lead the responsive reading
written by Rev. Stewart. Millie Phillips will
read a traditional Jewish story.
Voting Meeting of the Membership
Sunday at 12:45 in the Sanctuary
Members will meet and vote on the call to Reverend
Stewart to become the Society's Senior Minister
Sunday at 12:45. The meeting will be held in the
Sanctuary.
Absentee ballots are available in the Church office
and must be returned there by 4 pm Saturday (April 8).
The Unitarian Universalist Association recommends
that a minister accept a call from a congregation
only if a very high percentage of the vote is
in favor
of the call.
If the Membership issues a call and Reverend Stewart
accepts it, he will begin his service August 1st.
Reverend John Robinson will continue to be the
Society's Interim Minister and Rev. Stewart will
complete his tenure with his present congregation.
The Junior Youth will sell sandwiches after the
service and before the meeting of the Membership.

Taking to the Streets in a Foolish Way
7-Day Retreat Starts Saturday
Alex Darr, Rev. Dr. Kay
Jorgensen, and Martha Boesing
On Saturday 13 people will leave from the church to
begin a week-long journey onto the streets of San
Francisco. Without money in their pockets, they
will, briefly, witness and experience a taste of
life as it is today on the streets for those who are
living on the margins. Where to sleep, to eat, to
find a restroom, to sit?
Ministers from Texas and Michigan are coming to
participate along with members of our Society and
others from the City and Bay Area. The group will
gather twice a day for reflection.
The question that the Fools ask throughout the daily
work of the Street Ministry is: what holds us
separate, what keeps us separate, as we walk the
streets what still connects us?
What is Love?
Susan Anthony talked to us about love in a worship
service reflection March 26th. She shares the
complete reflection with us online at the link below.
Audio Sermons Available Online
Audio versions of sermons and of the complete
worship services are now being posted to the
Society's website.
The audio files will be posted each Wednesday
following the Sunday service. Text versions of the
sermon will generally be posted later, after editing
and formatting.
The online catalog includes both audio and text
versions of last week's sermon, "Christina Baldwin
is Hearing Voices". It also offers recordings of
four sermons back to Michael Schuler's "How to Grow
a Great Garden".
In the coming months the Society's technology team
will research making each weekly sermon or service
available as a podcast.
Fabulous Foolish Fundraiser
Last Saturday the Faithful Fools celebrated All
Fools Day with Oscard's annual fundraising party at
the church.
The Sanctuary and Center were crammed with clowns,
fools, and fun.
Photographer Sonnie Willis offers some visual
memories at the Fool's website.
