 I
am one of many qualified people willing to serve on the
Search Committee. The congregation is fortunate to have
such a good group from which to choose. I will not try
to tell you that my experience is better, my service
more lengthy, or my insights more astute. I try to
practice my beliefs in my life, my service to our
community, and while working on a challenges like this
committee faces. If you’ve worked with me, you know I
work hard, diligently and attempt to maintain the
perspective of why we do this kind of stuff. If we
haven’t worked together yet, stick around. I plan to.
I think the unique UU message that “We are already
whole,” is amazingly powerful and worth celebrating and
sharing. The Search Committee requires the inclusive,
community-wide view that we expect from our next
minister(s).
Our congregation needs (I need) a minister or
ministers who can
- Hold all of our diverse beliefs as sacred as their
own;
- Speak clearly, dynamically and personally from depth
and with content;
- Help us define our future together and our own
personal ministries rather than selling us on their
personal agenda;
- Expand our vision when we think our individual
missions are the only direction the entire church should
move;
- Celebrate the amazing people who are in this with us.
