The Fight for Civil Rights
Did Not End in 1968
Support An Evening of Equality...
for a Lifetime of Rights

Saturday, September 18 at 7 pm
Greetings!

The fight for civil rights did not end in 1968.

There are 1049 Federal rights given to heterosexual couples that are denied to same-sex couples. Each state withholds hundreds more rights from same-sex couples.

The law should treat all people equally!

We're Fighting for Equality

Rather than despairing at the negative legal situation, we've founded Unitarian Universalists for Marriage Equality.

Our goal is to add our liberal religious voices to the battle for state and federal recognition of same- sex marriages.

Join In the War for Equal Rights!

You can help this Civil Rights fight for equal treatment of all loving couples by participating in our celebrations and with your financial support.

On Saturday, September 18, Assemblyman Mark Leno, Del Martin and Phyllis Lyon, and other same-sex marriage activists are coming together for a screening of the film FREEDOM TO MARRY.

This fund-raising event will benefit the film (through its distributor, the Arts Council of Mendocino County) and the Unitarian Universalist Legislative Ministry of California. Each beneficiary is educating the public on same-sex marriage.

A wedding reception will follow the screening with the filmmakers, cast, and other marriage equality activists.

Throughout history no one has ever been given rights. You have to ask, demand, and fight for them. This is the time for our Civil Rights fight.

Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Sincerely,
