The ability to live, breathe and work in an environment of good preaching, good music, and an active social justice program were also what caused Greg to seek the position as The First Unitarian Universalist Society of San Francisco's Executive Director.

During his tenure at St. Peter's the Finance office converted to a new church based accounting system, new personnel policies and benefits were implemented, a faith-based stewardship program was enhanced and the offerings increased, and the congregation embarked on an extensive Endowment program with a goal of obtaining an additional $5 million of planned gifts.

"I have over 35 years of professional city management experience including 10 years of urban redevelopment advocacy and a second career of church management involving two different congregations," Greg said during his interviews. "First UU is the crown jewel of the UUA west of the Rockies and is now prepared to embark on a new level of governance designed to enhance its mission. I want to be a part of that."
